Our Social Responsibility
All of us in THE HOUND HUTT® team are passionate about the welfare of animals. We know that not all dogs are as loved as our furkids at Dog Grooming with Daycare are, and believe it is our responsibility to assist and educate the wider community about the importance of responsible dog parenting.
We also raise funding and support for less fortunate dogs and have been involved with many community events and not-for-profit organisations. Some of our favourites are listed below…

Muppie's Rescued Activities
In loving memory to our Facebook friend, Muppie we launched our Muppie's Rescued activities. Muppie was a toy poodle from Canada who was rescued from a puppy farm breeding program because she fell down some stairs and broke her leg. The puppy farm owners wanted to have her put to sleep but the vets convinced them to surrender her and place her with a rescue organisation. Muppie's (aka Karma) furever mummy, Mickey, started a page about Muppie and her new life and about how she teaches kids and others about recuing not buying. She touched so many lives all around the world. Muppie's Facebook page for a lot of us was the page we logged onto first thing in the morning to see what she was up to while having our coffee. In March 2015 we all received the shocking news that Muppie had suddenly passed away and this had a profound effect on us here. We realised how we could make a difference to lees fortunate dogs in Muppie's name by giving free grooms and daycare days to rescue dogs in foster care. We put the call out to rescue groups and the main one that took us up on our offer was Chihuahua Rescue Queensland Ltd (they rescue all small dog). So we have partnered with them and are regularly giving Muppie grooms to their dogs and for Christmas 2015 we are collecting items for their dogs and their foster families. We are privileged to be a part of these wonderful dog's lives and love!! |
Australian Animal Cancer Foundation
The Australian Animal Cancer Foundation (AACF) is our chosen charity for our fundraising activities here at THE HOUND HUTT®. Aunty Suzi’s life was completely changed when her dog, Pascal was diagnosed with, and passed away from canine cancer. She has vowed to highlight the Animal Cancer Care Centre here on our door steps in Albany Creek and to raise money to stamp out this condition. In September 2013 we did our first fundraising afternoon for the AACF with our open day. Our day raised $1900 for them and we are in the planning stages for our next fundraiser for them. From any fundraiser that we conduct for AACF 100% of the proceeds go to the charity. Our goal is to make our dog’s lives better and as a result making our own better. RSPCA Big Adopt Out
THE HOUND HUTT® attended the RSPCA’s Big Adopt Out that was held in Brisbane. We donated free dog daycare vouchers for the dogs that were adopted out so they could ease into their families and not be home alone in the first weeks. |
Brisbane City Council Dog & Community Events
We attend Brisbane City Council’s Dog and Community Events to promote responsible dog ownership and give dog’s an energy release so they go home tired.
At some events we provide and run games for the dogs and their parents to enjoy. We donate prizes and merchandise and have a display at these events.
Onsite Program
We also give support to our broader community with our Onsite Program, which enables high school and TAFE students to gain work experience whilst studying. THE HOUND HUTT® fosters and develops the skills of such students. We take between 2-6 students per year.
